Bamboo, at Last!

I have been trying to learn how to make the 'Bamboo' pattern I saw in a photo a few months ago... I've posted pix of my previous attempts. But I was never satisfied with how the design came out. Today I had a breakthrough, and I have Glennis Dolce to thank for it! I'm taking an on-line class from her on Shibori techniques, and even though we are working in silk, using Colorhue dyes which are designed to use on silk, and the technique she was demonstrating is 'makiage', which is a stitched/wrapped shape such as a circle or square, I could see what I was doing wrong on the Bamboo pattern. Today I dyed a shirt using the new version of the way I applied the dye, and voila! I think I got it!
Just goes to show, if at first you don't succeed, just keep on dyein'! ☺
